Instabilities in alpine Permafrost: strength and stiffness in a warming regime

Abstract:

This research project focuses on the geotechnical response of alpine Permafrost, such as creep and failure behaviour, in a warming thermal regime. The deformation behaviour of frozen soil is analysed by a series of triaxial stress path tests and numerical modelling.
